Was doing some "research" on the Ho Chi Minh trail as I am planning to do some exploring in that area in a few weeks time and happened to find this blog Time VS Focus. Dave Gordon (the guy) with Jonny (his bike) did this trip along the Ho Chi Minh trail from Ho Chi Minh city to Hanoi sometime early 2013 and he mentioned that he found RideAsia.net a very good source of info on the HCM trail.
