Just got a message that Vientiane was experiencing floods at the moment due to the Nock-Ten depression. Here is a youTube movie:

Not sure if the floods have gone done now - maybe Midnight Mapper can give us an update.

Thats all news to me?
Guess I will go out for a look.

Please kindly open the attached file for the observed water level along Mekong River and Flood Forecasting Bulletin.

Notice:

The Mekong is expected to reach flood stage at Nakon Phanom on the 2nd August and at Thakhet/Mukdahan on the 3rd August, 2011.

The Mekong is expected to reach arlarm situation at Savannakhet and Pakse monitoring statations on the 5th August, 2011

Best regards,

Nongkhai yesterday had quite bad floods with up to 1 meter water on some of the roads so I would not be surprised that Vientiane was experiencing some flooding as well but then again, if you live in the right place, you will have no problems.
