The route Hwy 11, 114, 116, 1033, 4010, 1184, 3021, 3119, 3006, 106, 1219, 4044, 1010, 4022, 1274,
Total distance 387 km
Todays trip was to explore some roads that I havent rode before south of Lumphun, I took hwy 11 south to just past Lamphun then a right onto the 114. After about 0.5km I took a left onto the 116 then at a crossroads it was a left onto the 1033
A few km along the 1033 and I take a right onto the 4010 and now the fun quiet roads begin
The 4010 is a very twisty road that runs through a few villages
I stop at Nam Mae Moei and its the first time that I have ever seen it full to capacity, its even trickling over
Theres a snake trying to climb up but to no avail
No isea what this one is
Its right beneath me and about to try climbing up again
Try as it might it just cant get any grip. Kevin perhaps this was one of those baby ones we found here last visit
A lot more of the road is underwater now
I ride to the end of the 4010 turning left onto the 1184 and a few km later take a right onto the 3021 to try out my first new road along here, and it looks good straight away
Great scenery
Good curves too
I ride to the junction with the 106 and having no desire to ride along the 106 I turn round and enjoy the 3021 in the opposite direction
I rejoin the 1184 heading south
Many times have I rode along this splendid road and its one I will never tire of, its definitely much preferable to the 106 that it runs parallel with
I take a right onto the 3119 and a nice touch of colour here
The dogs are coming out to greet me
A bit further along I come across the workers

This road is only a short loop that rejoins the 1184
I just get back on the 1184 than take a right onto the 3006 to try another new road that links the 1184 to the 106
Todays ride was great scenery
And fun roads
This Lady is sitting in the shade waiting for a lift home I guess
Just as I reach the 106 I see this and stop for some photos
After the temple I take the 106 south then take a left onto the 1219 to explore another new road
Another twisty fun road thats worth a spin on and it takes me back to the 1184 where I turn right heading south
At N17.56.673 E099.02.851 I take a right onto another new road and this one does not show on my gps map even at maximum zoom but after a couple of km the road marker says its the 4044
This one is the find of the day
Theres a reservoir here that is slightly overflowing
A very friendly proprietor and her daughter
The other girl was more interested in her radio
Heres a new lake for you Kevin, its called Maepandang Reservoir
Its at N17.56.272 E099.02.108
Time to say goodbye and ride on
It just gets better
At N17.55.095 E098.57.843 the surface turns to unmade but its flat and easy going, its only like this for a short distance and at N17.55.151 E098.57.465 its back to asphalt. From here the road shows on my gps map and its given as the 1010, but a road marker still says its the 4044
At the roads end I turn left onto the 4022 that runs parallel to the 106
Theres some smoke in the distance but a bit early for fires surely
A few good curves along here
I join the 106 and ride south to Li, here I take a left onto the 1274
Then after about fifteen km its a left to ride the 1184 back to Lumphun
I wonder if the piece of wood that he is carrying is for burning or as an ornament
My final trip shot of the day and what a fine well surfaced fun road the 1184 is. Todays trip was brilliant, trying out good new roads for the first time always is. I have ridden along the 1184 countless times and also the 106 a good few times but have always neglected those roads that join the two, now that wrong has been put right
I ate at Miguel’s Nong Hoi tonight
