Mai Bailey has been adventure riding in SE Asia, with her husband David for the last 8 years, covering over 130,000 km's, a lot of it being trail riding through Laos. Originally from Chiang Khong, Mai has been building this event in Chiang Khong over the past few years, I think it started a few years ago as a private party for friends and being such a success, has grown from there.


The Chiang Khong Lifestyle Festival, will be held on the banks of the Mekong River on the 8th & 9th December, 2012. There will be dance shows, food vendors and lots more, so well worth a visit. There will be a group of us riding up from Chiang Mai for this event for sure.

Mai's pretty well connected in Chiang Khong, one we get an idea of numbers, she'll be able to get something suitable.

"I'll periodically send you additional info so the section in your forum that refers to the 8-9 festival always stays towards the top of the list. Many kind thanks for your efforts here.
The inaugural Chiang Khong Lifestyle Festival will be held on the banks of the Mekong River on the 8th & 9th December, 2012. There will be dance shows, food vendors, cultural activities and lots more. We are hoping for great success on this year and then we plan on expanding the activities in future years. The various options for activities is unlimited given Chiang Khong's location and we encourage everyone to attend and give us feedback so we can make each successive year's festival more fun and exciting than the previous one.
Previously we have held private parties and or limited events in and around Chiang Khong and we are wishing to expand on these previous activities and make them even more open to the general public.
The pictures below will give you an idea of some of our previous events that we will be expanding upon.

If you want the most scenic ride from Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong, take the route north east that will bring you through the Phu Chi Fa region which is on the Thai/ Laos border.


This route is roughly 350km & will take roughly 4-5 hours of moving time.
