The KLX gets a cleaning every 12000 km whether it needs one or not, today I think it did

What does the chain look like now?
and where is that?

The chain looks a lot cleaner now, I gave the co ordinates for it but its at a Shell filling station just past the Izusu shop heading out of town on the Doi Saket road before you reach hwy 11

Thanks mate, not all of us are slaves to the GPS!

If you had one and could use it correctly, you'd see more for sure (try find someone who didn't want to use one any more once they had one).
How on earth did people and off bikes ever mate up before za vounder of Sat Nav's .
Sold mine , Dazes is in a drawer and went out with Jarni and his gps and ended up sacking it as it just slowed us down ! Unt I have yet to see a Thai with one :phil

If you only do the same 3 trails every week you prob have a point.

I find it amazing that you guys advocate using one in town! Whatever happened to street names and landmarks? I do realise I'm "Old School" but there is some pride to be had in coming from a nation with a reputation for giving directions by pubs!

Not all people that choose not to use them are luddites. Luke hated the things and prefers winging it and paper maps.

Yes not all of us have the bike experience you do.

Jeez I feel queasy now.

No need to feel queasy - I will sit down this evening and find GPS tracks on dirt from your place to Panama so you can put the new bike on the boat to join up with the guys here :o.

LR -- He doesn't need a GPS, he knows everything already;)

I'm a bit disappointed with my local bike cleaner now. Had the bike washed twice in two weeks but still can't get that Laos mud off it. not a Cat in Hells chance of them cleaning it after 12K. not a Cat in Hell's chance of finding those trails either without a GPS :?

Just out of interest Colin, How often are you having to change the Chain & sprockets ?

Chain and front sprocket at 26000 km, another front sprocket at 39000 km (I dont know why the second one wore out so quickly).

I am hoping to get until the 54000 km service before changing them all again

Now thats a rare site , a man who came from the states giving his KTM some throttle . Zis is nice to see .

No way that resembles me at all. he's not laying next to his bike with broken bones.........................even after not having given the KTM some throttle :).

Hahaha. I'm searching for off road in Guatemala in another tab on the computer. Thanks Auke for keeping my nauseousness at bay. Sometimes certain posts get my stomach bile churning.

The old location at N18.79050 E099.00414 that I used to go to is now open again.
This is between the Narawat and Nakorn Ping bridges on the east side of the river at what used to be the PTT/7-11 opposite the Goodview

Now in both Thailand and the UK I pride myself on having the dirtiest bikes of anyone that I know and it was a feeling of immense satisfaction seeing it take three of them to clean my bike while only one person was cleaning other bikes there

A couple of shots of the chain for you Alex, 120 Baht for a good job.
Unless your bike is as filthy as mine ( which I sincerely hope it isnt) the job will be cheaper for you, 80 or 100 Baht
