The route 108, 1015, 1010, 4032, 4007, 1156, 4009, 1012
Total distance 318 km
A pleasant ride along side roads from Cnx to Hot, here the Ping river is rather low
I took the wrong turn somewhere along the line and it was a fun ride on some different roads but then it was a choice of dirt roads to get back to asphalt
This is what I bought the KLX for, to ride unpaved roads, it was only a short unpaved section from N18.19.505 E98.41.608 to N18.18.639 E98.42.095
Along the 4009 and a couple of different reservoir shots
I reach Hot and take the 1012 for a short distance, then theres a slight problem
A victim of the flooding lies in the road
Another dead one floats in the water
I take a track to bypass the flooded road then get back on it further along but its the same here and everywhere else that I try
These people making bamboo rafts should be doing a brisk trade right now
Todays plan was to ride the length of the 1012 then on the way back take the 4010 to join the 1103, here I am at the junction of the 1012/4010 and theres a slight problem with my plans
Riding along the inland rough road I pass these bikes, one of them was a modified Honda Dream
High rise exhaust and some seriously chunky tyres
I eventually reach a decent length of asphalt thats above water and a twisty bit here
Nearly at the end of the road thats on the gps and its submerged again.
I rode along the 1012 about six years ago and my memory says then the asphalt finished a lot earlier at a village and to go further was a dirt track, when the water subsides I will come back to try to find where that last village was.
On that trip I was a bit disillusioned to not find a sign of any water despite my map showing the lake but it may have been in march when the water level was very low, today certainly no complaints about any water shortages
A tributary to the lake but not much water flowing in now
Now to ride back along that dusty track
The big breakfast grill at Euro Diner tonight for 165 Baht
