The plan was to ride out of town to see how I managed on the bike and to visit Wat Phrathat Chom Mon

Tamarind and chillis drying on the hedge

The temple I could see when I was walking around last week

Standing up riding on the highway caused no discomfort so I gingerly ventured down this track

Friendly folk here taking a break

They gave me some tamarind to take home, nice sweet ones too

The old oil drums have a multitude of uses

The track carried on

It brought me back to the highway over the wooden bridge

At the entrance to Wat Phrathat Chom Mon it looked like it was a climb up steep steps to reach the top so I rode on and found this track which hopefully will take me there

These gates look like they have a track behind them going in the direction that I want to go, here the track is a crossroads so I have more to explore out here in a future trip

These two tell me it leads to my destination

Just past here I meet a paved road which goes to the top and I realise that I could have rode up from the entrance

Great views from the top which would have been even nicer a few months ago

The steep walk up for those who want to

I explore a few more unmapped tracks

The road turns to unpaved at the crematorium, the fallen tree wasnt a problem to get over

I follow this track and realise that offroad riding isnt that comfortable in t shirt, shorts and trainers but I wasnt expecting to be doing it today

Exactly five weeks after the crash and the KLX finally gets back to its natural habitat

I initially decided to turn around here but looking ay my gps told me I was closer to reaching a track I mapped two years ago then I was to riding back so I carried on

My first test and no problem

Nearly out of the woods now

Just through there and I am back on my track

The dried up riverbed that I mapped two years ago

At the irrigation canal there is some work taking place

Well I managed to cope alright with this outing, I cant bend the tip of the thumb much and it might need attention when I get back to the UK at the end of the month but hopefully I am on the road to recovery

Kamol gai and fried onions at the monday market 60 Baht
