Recorded my first kill of the season when this bird flew into me after clipping the bikes mirror.

I was extremely glad I was wearing the body armour under my airflow jacket as that took most of the impact but it was still a bit unpleasant even with it on.
It isnt until a bird hits you that you realise it can hurt

A few feathers were left on the bike



A few longtail boats headed south along the Ping south of Hot













I wont be looking for a way up there today



Further south and it looks a lot closer





Not a drop of water in here which flows into the Ping

Another dried up stream apart from this drinking well for the cattle



In november 2012 this would have all been underwater

Lets follow this track to see where it goes as I have never ventured along here before

Finally I reach the top





There should be a lake down there but nothing apart from the small flow of the Ping







I ride back down and take an unpaved track to the Ping





I should be submerged by now but still cant see any water yet

Finally I can see it



The Wave doesnt like the sand so I leave it here and walk







The cattle seem to enjoy the Nam Ping

I prefer the Nam Singha

No surprise to see smoke from a fire

[The Bigfella]

No tail left on the bird. We would call is a swamp pheasant, or Coucal Pheasant in Australia. Lovely birds... but a bit big to be hitting on the bike.
