2014 Triumph Bonnevilles louder - Motorbike Writer

(Incidentally, the Oz price for the Bonneville is about $12,000 i.e. about 360,000 baht)

Shipped all the way out there and sold for half the price of what its sold for in the country of manufacture, piss taking bastards, it would serve Triumph right if they went under

Taxes though isnt it.. Triumph choose to remain inside the bonded zone, to facilitate ease of importing parts tax free to the plant.. Hence Thailand still sees them as a foriegn bike when it comes to duties.

Why ducati / Kwak can sell bikes at close to western prices yet Triumph are costing so much.

Tho they do take the piss on top, I think thier dealer chain profits must be penalizing them like KTM. Look at how Yammie are hitting the market with the MT9 and it shows a big difference.

Ducati are bringing in many more parts than triumph who have a 50%+ local content on Bonnevilles only the engine is brought from UK , ducati bring the engine and much more in so local content is at most 45% . Ducati dont have 2 extra parts manufacturing , paint , chrome , tin ware and machining factories here like triumph do, so staying inside the bonded law is B/S ,, but things should change nexr year with AFTA ,, so long as triumph can extricate themselves from the stupid restrictive distribution aggreement as well , and that a much more tricky issue as its ''political & lazy greedy influentual people involved '' but Ducati mangaed that too !!!!!
