Checking out a side track off a track I found last year

An easy water crossing

We had grand plans to enjoy some tracks we found together last year and also ride some that I found alone that nicely linked up together

As we approach the new single track suspension bridge over the Yuam we see signs of a new full size bridge being constructed

Riding under those concrete beams is not a problem for me as I am short and on a relatively low bike I just get through without having to duck but for Christian being a lot taller its a real problem for him.

Looking upstream

Looking downstream where the new bridge is being constructed.
I will look in again before I leave here in late march to see if its finished

One of the tracks I found last year is now seriously overgrown but we manage to ride through to join the track towards Sao Hin

Annoyingly the one we found together and a goodie is not passable at the moment, this explains why it was so overgrown at the start

Its hard to believe that this was a good wide double track in February and march

We back track and get to a track where the river bed is the stream but both of us get bogged down and it takes a long while with a lot of sweating and swearing to get the bikes out as they were very firmly stuck in the mud.
For the second time today we have to retreat, this was another track I found and rode alone at the start of the year but certainly not doable right now.
We were both exhausted and didn't even think of getting photos as getting the bikes out of the mud was our only concern.

German sausage, fries, onions and curry sauce at Sawaddee, delicious and filling too 140 Baht
