Hello Colin,

The trees that you think are devoid of life are far from it. They will soon blossom into a fabulous display of ozone scented cream (or sometimes red) flowers. Although they flower at any time of year they put on their best display in the dry season. They are all out down here in Kan right now.

They are Frangipani (scientific name: Plumeria) ดอกลิลาวดี. The common name for them is จำปา (jampaa) but this (for some odd reason) is now frowned upon.

I was going to say something similar about how they will flower. I bet these were near a temple or crematorium? See here for more cultural background : Thai Flower | Plumeria or Frangipani | Thai Language Hut School . Not being Thai, I have one growing at the top of my driveway :)

Nice pics, Colin. It doesn't look too smokey yet, either

Thanks Roger.

Hopefully it stays smoke free here too Jim.
