Chicken curry and rice from the Wednesday market 70 Baht

A truck came the other way and I had to stop and wait for a bit to be able to see the track again.
I was planning on riding up here again tomorrow as I saw other tracks going off but I might leave it until I am here again in november as the bulldust is no joke

I was lucky getting to ride this today before any fires were lit or it would have been a rather unpleasant ride

Look at that lot waiting to be burnt

As I am riding east towards Sop Moei and the 105 the track is getting dustier

Riding back and looking down on the second village

A rather large pig

Before turning down to the village I saw another one to my right and this is also called Ban Mae Kek, here I am given some cold water which was welcome

The Teacher is from Bangkok and speaks good English.
He tells me the village name and says Mae Pua is the rivers name

A useful accessory

Now in Ban Mae Kek

These two live in this house along the track

After some steep climbing on loose dusty soil I can see the village down there

A bridge here so the villagers can get in and out during the wet season

The track doesn't appear to go anywhere so I try the other turn

A bit too deep there

At the streams confluence I ride through taking the left choice

Along the next new track which will take me to Ban Mae Kek and the red ants eggs are being harvested

I explore a second unmapped track and this too takes me down to the same stream

About 4 degrees cooler here then I experienced two days ago along the 108

Some company turns up

It finishes at the stream which makes a good lunch stop under the shade of a tree

Time to explore a side track that isn't on the map

A checkpoint not far past Mae Sam Laep that I don't remember on previous trips

Still some water in this stream

The Salawin at Mae Sam Laep

My GPS is a strange device, yesterday it stopped working off the bikes battery but would work from AA batteries or plugged into the computer.
This morning I put it on the bike, it fired straight up using the bikes battery and ran perfectly all day
