Half a chicken with fries from Intira 140 Baht

Back on the 105 and the Nam Mae Lit

In Kong Um

Back on the main track and there are four water crossings in quick succession

I explore a side single track but it turns to nothing

Nearing Kong Um

A shady secluded lunch stop

For a while the track doesn't look much used but it is double track all the way through and after a while tyre tracks from 4WD vehicles are showing

He tells me this village is Mae Kha as well

In Mae Kha

Now on a track which should take me to the Nam Ngao NP

Back out on the main track and the track in the photo is the one I have just rode to Huai La-U, annoyingly I saw this yesterday and thought it was a track I had already explored, not to worry at least I found it

Time to head back

One of the guys beckons me to follow him, here at the school he motions the track goes on but its not something I wish to try alone as it doesn't look much like a track to me

Finally I reach it

Through the trees I can see Mae Pa Noi from where I could see todays destination so I know I am on the right track

In about three places the bike got bogged down in the loose stuff and the only way to get up those bits was by running alongside the bike in first gear.
Standard gearing was 15/44 I think, I am now running 15/52 but its still not low enough on some of these steep bits

A log crossing at the bottom, now for some very steep hills

This single track carries on through and goes downhill for a way

I studied GE last night for clues on how to find Huai La-U and decided it must be through Mae Pa Khi which was the first village I visited yesterday

A chillier start today and once up at this altitude it was noticeably colder
