A Hot Spell In The UK

Some more bike photos from rides out on wednesday evenings, some of them will have been put on here before but I am sure nobody minds seeing them again

The hooligan bike from years ago

This immaculate condition one is from 1981/82

64000 km and its still in mint condition

The oil on the ground tells me its an original and not an Oriental copy

The first one of these 1200 Triumphs that I have seen out on the road

1975/76 and some learner riders pride and joy

    What a colour scheme

We have been enjoying a mini heatwave here for the last week or so with the temperature reaching about 26C which is well above average for now and a couple of pints were enjoyed at the pub

One area where the UK scores over Thailand is at least you can buy proper beer here even though it isnt cheap at £3.65/180 Baht per pint, but nice anyway

As it was a lovely sunny hot weekend I went out for a 400 km ride on sunday enjoying some of my favourite roads

These are my favourite kind of roads in the Wiltshire countryside, plenty of curves and not too much traffic

Its really great riding out along here today

Time to stop here in the peace and quiet of this field for my picnic lunch

From here its a good fun blast back home on a great loop

I used to love riding the South of England: I consider myself a Sussex boy (despite being Pompey born!) and grew up in Bolney where the A272 intersects the A23. At one stage I worked in Kent (near Hythe) for 10 years...... I loved the early morning ride back to work after a weekend on the piss with mates in Haywards Heath across Romney Marsh etc.
That Suzuki took me all over the UK..... Hythe to Anglesey many a time! Cotswolds, Mendips, great biking. Another terrific memory on that bike: Glencoe.

Martin I ride past Bolney often as my Mother and youngest brother live in Eastbourne, plus I worked there on a building site back in 1998 so know it well, I also am a Sussex boy spending my first 17 years in a village near Petworth.

Almost looks like you're having fun over there Colin! Great looking vintage bikes, looks like there's a cult developing here with Hassman's Matchless, Rob's BSA etc......

Well the heatwave lasted all of about 9 days, this is the view out of my bedroom window today, its pissing down with rain again and forecast wet until friday with a daytime temperature of below 10C.
What a depressing shithole the UK is and I need to escape it permanently, never complain about Thailand being too hot or too dry as this is a most unpleasant alternative
